The Daytona 500 is a huge race in Nascar. Millions of people
view the race each year. In fact, about 9 million people viewed the race this year.
This year the president started off the race and made a lap around the track. All
of this means that many companies are on the hunt to advertise during the race.
The Daytona 500 was full of action. That is, once the race could actually begin. The race was originally supposed to be completed on Sunday, Feb. 18th, but was eventually rescheduled for Monday because of several rain delays. This allowed companies to get even more view time of their advertisements on the cars and track!

Many people view the Daytona 500 because of the fast speed and potential for wrecks to happen. Last, night was not different, there were multiple wrecks and one happened the last lap of the race, when the leader, Ryan Newman flipped and totaled his car. Ryan Newman was rushed to the hospital and luckily, he did not have any life-threatening injuries! Nascar even release a statement, thanking everyone for their prayers and to respect the family’s privacy.
The Daytona 500 is a great marketing opportunity that many companies look to advertise at or be a sponsor on a car. The companies get a huge amount of exposure this event, especially when their car wins the race like FedEx, when Denny Hamlin won by an inch in yesterday’s race!
